Eduardo in an 18th Street jail cell in the Ilopango barrio, one of San Salvador's most violent. This is his 34th birthday and he says the 10th time he has been put in jail without charges. He was deported from the states in 1994 and served 4 years in 2000 for armed robbery. He says he is trying to move on from the Maras to raise his daughter, but it is difficult. He was put in jail for being for other members of 18th street. Even if a Mara stops doing activities with gangs, the relationships made in the gang last for ever.
